Eagar, at about 7,080 feet, and Springerville, about 6,970 feet and 1.6 miles to the north, together form Round Valley in Apache County, ringed by the White Mountains. Eagar was settled in 1879 by the Eagar brothers, irrigated hay and pasture still cover the valley floor near the Little Colorado River headwaters, Sunrise Park ski area is up the road, and the Casa Malpais archaeological site sits above Springerville in volcanic basalt. Cold, snowy winters and short summers mean the work here is mostly mice and pack rats pushing into homes, vehicles and barns each fall, overwintering insects on sunny walls, and wasps and yellowjackets in late summer, not scorpions.

Winters are cold with snow, summers are short and warm, and monsoon rains arrive in July and August. That climate shapes which pests show up and when, so we plan service around the season rather than a desert calendar.
What we typically see through the year in Round Valley:
The Arizona Department of Health Services says the deer mouse is the primary hantavirus carrier in Arizona, that most cases are reported from northern Arizona, and Apache County was among the counties with confirmed cases in 2024.
Do not sweep or vacuum droppings dry — that puts dust in the air. Open doors and windows to ventilate a closed building first, spray droppings and nests with disinfectant, let them soak, then wet-wipe with disposable materials while wearing gloves and bag the waste.
If you find heavy droppings, nests or a pack rat midden in a barn, cabin or vehicle, call us before you disturb it. We handle rodent removal and exclusion on the house and the outbuildings together.
Not usually. University of Arizona Extension describes the Arizona bark scorpion as a low-desert species. At Round Valley's elevation, with cold, freezing winters, scorpions are not a main concern, so we focus your service on rodents, wasps and overwintering insects instead. If you do find one, we'll identify it.
Springerville is part of the same route as Eagar. Its older homes, shops, garages and ranch outbuildings around the basalt rim country see real pack rat and mouse pressure, and carpenter ants turn up in older wood. Springerville customers (ZIP 85938) get the same White Mountains team, the same branch phone number and the same service plans as Eagar (ZIP 85925).
We also serve Greer (about 8,500 feet), Nutrioso (about 7,800 feet) and Alpine (about 8,050 feet), along with Concho and St Johns. Many Greer, Alpine and Nutrioso homes are seasonal cabins. Give us gate-code or lockbox access once and our licensed, background-checked technicians service the property on schedule, send notes, photos and GPS proof of service, and leave no door hangers on an empty house.

Generally no. University of Arizona Extension describes the Arizona bark scorpion as a low-desert species. At about 7,000 feet, with cold, freezing winters, scorpions are not a main concern; rodents, wasps and overwintering insects are the bigger concerns. If you find a scorpion, we'll identify it.
Mostly in fall, as nights turn cold. Deer mice and house mice look for shelter in homes, garages and outbuildings, and pack rats nest in vehicles, ATVs, snowmobiles and hay barns. Sealing gaps before winter helps.

Around mid-May at this elevation, consistent with our White Mountains timing. Pre-emergent works when it goes down before weeds germinate.
